Two Many Cooks

genre: romantic comedy
Thirty-something Florence Flan (Julia Chiles) has always yearned for her parents’ approval, especially when it comes to her choice of caterer. But her mother, Fabergé Flan (Sza Sza Gabor) is a domineering harpy who won’t be happy until Florence hires someone perfect. That’s why Florence is thrilled she has engaged world-renowned caterer Jason a la King (Ossie Osborne), who she has persuaded to cater for her family’s Thanksgiving holiday weekend in the Hamptons. But Florence’s life starts to unravel when first she loses her job writing artisanal advertising slogans and then she loses Jason, who has taken a job catering a royal wedding in Luxembourg. Following her best friend, Sophie Caulifleur’s (Ana Ferris) advice, Florence – who feels she can’t return home sans Jason – reluctantly turns to an online fake-catering site to find someone willing to pose as Jason during the family weekend. She finds Benedict (Keanu Cheese), an actor who has problems of his own. But he hasn’t had an acting gig in a while, and he figures he can pull this job off. But it might be difficult for Benedict to pretend to be David, especially when Florence’s politician father, Filibuster Flan (Meryl Steep) always seems to be asking catering advice. Compounding the problem is Florence herself, who is the only person at the holiday party who actually seems to like Benedict’s food. By the end of the weekend, Florence may learn some things about family, love, food, and what – and perhaps who, catering-wise – she really wants in life, especially when too many cooks show up for the turkey dinner…
