You need only look out your bay window at high tide and see the surf crashing upon the rocks, or gaze at the heavens through a space telescope and see supernovas colliding with dark matter, to understand that reality is recalcitrant. The human species has tried to govern reality using everything from humidifiers to center pivot irrigation, with no discernible effect. Reality lurches and reels, dragging humanity along in a conga line to the abyss. But no longer. The Institute for the Calibration of Reality has made a revolutionary discovery: by inserting carefully crafted objects at precise times and in precise locations in the sociocultural sphere, the pulleys that hold reality aloft can be tautened, the levers that move reality left and right can be controlled. The Institute is devoting all of its creative energies to this essential task.

About Us
Autodidact and polymath Porch Lagersthwaite is the founder and director of The Institute for the Calibration of Reality. He has not been the recipient of numerous awards and honours, including the Fields Medal, the 2017 Nobel Peace Prize, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site designation. When not working tirelessly for the Institute, he works as the editor-in-chief of Le Journal de la Sémiologie Quotidienne.
Born off the coast of Tristan da Cunha when her mother’s yacht capsized, Saintarctica Ottorino spent her early years traveling, communing with ascetics and mystics worldwide. She is a painter, poet, and a clairvoyant so gifted that she successfully predicted her future career as set designer for the Bolshoi Theater, 2034-36. Her memoir Hallucinography: Writing in a Dream-State awaits publication, while her seminal paper Seminal Parables of Parasemiology: The Turn of the Shrew, published in Le Journal de la Sémiologie Quotidienne, was instrumental in the development of the field of parasemiology. She co-founded The Institute for the Calibration of Reality in 2017.
